Basic Training -6 week courses
Elementary School
Perfect for dogs that need to start or restart with basic skills. Our Elementary School sets you and your puppy up for success. We teach the basics in a positive, nurturing environment. Training focuses on real-life situations and proper socialization.
What This Class Covers:
- Puppy Behaviors: Biting, Nipping, and Other Common Challenges
- House Training: Potty Training and Sharing
- Impulse Control: Leave It and Attention & Focus
- Recall: Building Reliable Come-When-Called Skills
- Cooperative Care: Target Work and Body Handling Basics
- Leash Introduction: Gentle, Positive Leash Training
- Basic Obedience: Sit, Down, Place, and Introduction to Stay
We use positive reinforcement (R+) and Fear Free methods. Our training is science-based and humane.
Middle School
Graduated from Elementary School? Welcome to Middle School. This class builds on basics and introduces advanced skills. We prepare dogs for real-life situations. You’ll learn how to socialize your dog and manage behavior changes.
What This Class Covers:
- Advanced Obedience: Reliable Recall, Sit, Down, Basic Stay (with handler in sight)
- Off-Leash Skills: Off-Leash Heel and Name Game for better focus
- Manners & Socialization: Meeting Strangers politely and Comfort Around the Food Bowl
- Body Handling: Techniques to ensure your dog is comfortable with grooming and vet visits
- Confidence Building: Confidence Course to help dogs navigate new environments with ease
Classes use positive reinforcement (R+) and Fear Free methods. We believe in humane, science-based learning.
Canine Good Citizen Prep: Prepares dogs and handlers for CGC certification.
Prerequisite: Complete Elementary School or pass an entry test.
High School
High School is for advanced skills and CGC test prep. We build on earlier training with complex cues. Training focuses on real-life situations.
Think of it as learning to run after learning to walk. We reinforce good manners, socialization, and manage behavior changes.
What This Class Covers:
- Real-Life Skills: Wait at the Door, Leashing-Up, and Meet & Greet Etiquette
- Advanced Obedience: Reliable Recall, Loose-Leash Walking, and Extended Stay
- Impulse Control: Leave It, Redirection, and Attention Focus
- Calm Behaviors: Wait, Give & Take, and Settle for everyday situations
All of our classes are based on positive reinforcement (R+) and use Fear Free training methods. We are committed to science-based, humane learning practices to ensure effective, compassionate training.
Canine Good Citizen Prep: This class ends with the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certification test.
Class Prerequisite: Successful completion of our Middle School course or demonstration of equivalent skills.
